Ingredients

Take one cup of basmati rice, two saffron strands, one teaspoon of milk, half a cup of sugar, half a teaspoon of turmeric powder, and ghee/oil for cooking.

What more do you need

Take four cardamoms, a one-inch cinnamon stick, two cloves, one-fourth cup of sliced almonds and pistachios, and two teaspoons of sultana raisins.

Washing

Take the basmati rice, clean it by washing them with water and soak them in enough water for 15-20 minutes

Saffron

Take a small pan, add saffron strands and dry roast them. Turn off the heat, add milk to it and stir it to mix.

Cinnamon Stick

Take a large saucepan and bring four cups of water to boil. Add the one-inch cinnamon stick and two cloves to the boiling water.

Add rice

Drain the water from the rice and add the rice to the boiling water. Cook until it is almost done, but not fully cooked. Drain the boiling water and keep the rice aside.

Cooking

Take a heavy-bottomed pan and add ghee to it. Add the leftover cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves to the pan and stir it until the aroma releases.

Add Everything

Add rice, sugar, saffron, dry fruits, raisins, turmeric, and one teaspoon of water and stir properly to combine everything.

Let it sit

Cover the pan with the lid, turn the heat low and let the rice simmer for 5-10 minutes until properly cooked.

Serve

Serve the tasty and delightful dish by garnishing almonds and pistachios on top of the rice.
