Ingredients
One cup water chestnut flour, sugar and ghee, one teaspoon ghee, three cups water, two teaspoons freshly grounded cardamom powder, and one-fourth cup cashew nuts.
Preparation
Pour water into a saucepan and stir sugar in it until completely dissolved. Continue to heat the water on a low flame.
Water Chestnut Flour
Take a heavy-bottomed pan and heat it on medium flame. Melt one cup of ghee and add singhaara flour to it. Stir it until roasted brown.
Stir Continuously
Stir continuously while roasting, the mixture will start to resemble a coarse crumble. Add cardamom powder to the mixture and mix on low flame.
Sugar Water
Slowly pour the prepared sugar water into the flour mixture and stir it until it thickens. Then continue stirring for an additional 10-15 minutes on medium flame.
Let Sit
After turning off the heat, cover the singhaare aate ka halwa with a lid and let it sit for five minutes.
Cashews
Take a small pan, add one teaspoon of ghee and heat it on medium flame. Add cashew nuts to it and roast until golden brown. Add them to the halwa.
