Kangana Ranaut Inspired Siddu Recipe You Must Try At Home!

The famous and renowned actress, known for her fabulous acting in the movie ‘Queen’ has left her fans' drooling by sharing her favourite Himachal dish ‘Siddu’. Siddu is a traditional dish of Himachal Pradesh and is loved by mountain people. Tap to read its recipe!

Ingredients

Take one cup whole wheat flour, one teaspoon active dry yeast, one teaspoon sugar, water, two tablespoon roasted peanuts, two tablespoon walnuts.

What Else do you need?

One cup peas, one cup cottage cheese (paneer), one inch ginger, two cloves of garlic, one green chilli, and salt as per taste.

Preparation

Take a bowl and add yeast, whole wheat flour, and sugar. While kneading, add little amounts of water to form a non-sticky and soft dough.

Cover Dough

When the dough is prepared, cover the bowl with plastic wrap or lid and let it sit in a warm place till it rises.

Stuffing

Take a grinder, add nuts, green peas, ginger, garlic, green chillies, and salt and grind them to form a coarse mixture. Crumble the cottage cheese above the mixture.

Dough

After the dough has risen, divide it into small balls equally and flatten them using a rolling pin. Its thickness should be one centimeter.

Add Filling

Add the prepared filling on one side of the dough and fold the other side on top of it forming a semi-circle. Pinch the sides to seal the dough.

Oil

Take a pan and heat two teaspoons of oil in it. When the oil becomes hot, add the stuffed dough in the pan and toast both sides until golden brown.

Ready to Serve!

Your Himachali style pahadi siddu is ready to be served! You can serve it with green chutney and dal.
