Celebrate the joy of Baisakhi 2025 with a delicious bowl of homemade Badam Kheer! This is loaded with almonds, saffron, and aromatic spices. This dish is easy to prepare and full of traditional flavours. It is perfect for harvest celebrations with family and friends.
Ingredients
Three-fourth cup almonds, three cups hot water, one tsp ghee, five cashews, two tbsp raisins, five cups milk, half tsp saffron, one-fourth cup sugar, one-fourth tsp cardamom powder, two tbsp pistachios, one tsp butter, one-fourth cup milk, half cup milk powder.
Take a Kadai
Take a kadai, and prepare a mixture of five cups of milk and half a teaspoon of saffron. Stir and boil well.
Cook for 15 minutes
Reduce to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the milk has thickened slightly. Add the almond paste you prepared, and constantly stir the mixture.
Pour crumbled mawa
After 5 minutes of cooking, stir until it thickens and becomes creamy. Pour in the crumbled mawa and stir gently until everything is well combined.
Add sugar
Add the one-fourth cup of sugar to the pot. Stir and boil the mixture for two minutes more. Then, add the cardamom powder.
Add dried fruits
Finally, stir the mixture in the fried nuts. Serve pomegranate, chopped pistachios, and nuts when serving. Badam kheer can be enjoyed either warm or chilled!
