Ingredients
To make dahi bhalla chaat, take one cup of soaked urad dal, one cup of thick yoghurt, half a teaspoon of salt, half a teaspoon of red chilli powder, half a teaspoon of roasted cumin powder, oil to fry, half a cup of chickpeas and boiled potatoes, two tablespoons of tamarind chutney and mint-coriander chutney, pomegranate seeds, and half a teaspoon of chaat masala.
Make bhalla
Add soaked urad dal, a pinch of salt, and water and grind it into a smooth batter. Heat oil and deep-fry small portions of the batter until golden brown.
Soak the bhallas
Once the bhallas are fried, soak them in warm water for 10-15 minutes. Squeeze the excess water out of them and keep it aside.
Make yoghurt mixture
Take a bowl and add the curd with water. Whisk it well until it is smooth and creamy. Add salt, cumin powder for added taste.
Assemble the chaat
Now, place the soaked bhallas on a plate and pour the prepared yoghurt on top. Add tamarind and mint chutney and mix it well.
Add spices
Now, add boiled chickpeas and potatoes and mix. Sprinkle some red chilli powder and chaat masala and mix it well.
Garnish and serve
Garnish the chaat with pomegranate seeds and seve on top. Sprinkle some fresh coriander leaves and serve.
