Sugar is a significant roadblock to achieve our fitness journey and weight loss goals. You must have seen many people also reduce sugar intake in an attempt to lose weight. Everyone believes that to reduce weight, reducing sugar intake is necessary. Several studies have also shown that excessive intake of sugar can cause problems such as obesity, type-2 sugar, heart problem, metabolic disorder and hormone disorder. The American Heart Association (AHA) has reduced the amount of daily sugar for men and women. If you intake more sugar than this, it can be harmful to you. 

  • Men: 37.5 Gm or nine teaspoons daily
  • Female: 25 Gm or six teaspoons daily

It is not that you take so much sugar directly. The amount of sugar is also in the foods you like. In today's lifestyle, we are more dependent on processed or packaged food products, so sugar intake is not reduced.
