Winter is finally here and so are health problems like cold, cough and many other illnesses. You need to have a nutritious, wholesome diet to get through the cold and chilly winds of this season. Winters bring a chance to eat our favourite delicacies like peanuts, jaggery and a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables too. However, there are some food items that shouldn't be consumed in large amounts.

1. Hot noodles/maggi
Hot noodles/ maggi contains too much fat and carbohydrates. The excess amount of sodium makes us more thirsty. Hence, it should be consumed in moderation to avoid the excess thirst.
2. Fast food
Fast foods contain a lot of calories, fats and sugar. Therefore, having home cooked meals in winters is highly recommended. Consuming a lot of fast food items like burgers, pizzas and soft drinks is not good for your health.
3. Oily and spicy food
Oily and spicy foods can increase weight very speedily so these should be avoided if you're trying to lose weight. Instead, consume more fruits, whole grains, salads.
4. Hot chocolate
Hot chocolate consists of large amounts of sugar so it should be avoided and winter smoothy is recommended instead of this. Avoid more such sugary things. There is a risk of dehydration due to less consumption of water in this season.
5. Alcohol
On top of that, people drink alcohol in large quantities to keep their bodies warm. It makes your body very dehydrated. Hence, avoid alcohol and keep yourself hydrated by good consumption of water itself.
