Ingredients
One and a half cups dried figs, half a cup of khoya, half a cup of brown sugar, half a cup of chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, walnuts, raisins), half a teaspoon cardamom powder, one inch of cinnamon stick, four tablespoons of ghee, and a few saffron strands.
Soak figs overnight
Soak figs in warm water overnight or atleast for 5-6 hours to soften the figs. Drain the excess water and cut it into smaller pieces.
Cook figs in ghee
Take a pan and heat ghee in it. Add cardamom powder, cardamom stick, and chopped anjeer pieces. Cook on a low flame for 3-4 minutes.
Add khoya with figs water
Now, add drained figs water and khoya to the halwa. Cook it for another 3-4 minutes and stir it occasionally.
Add sugar
Add brown sugar or jaggery powder to the halwa. Cook it well until it is completely melted and caramelised.
Add dry fruits
When halwa starts to thicken, add chopped cashews, almonds, walnuts, raisins, and saffron strands. Cook it for 2-3 minutes and serve it hot.
