Shilpa Shetty's Favourite Chivda Recipe For Weight Loss

Ingredients

Two cups of thin poha (flattened rice), one-fourth cup peanut, half a cup of makahna, one-fourth cup roasted chana dal, two tablespoons of oil, a teaspoon of mustard seeds, half a teaspoon cumin seeds, 8-10 curry leaves, 2-3 green chilli, half a teaspoon of turmeric powder, half a teaspoon red chilli powder, salt, and two tablespoons of dried coconut flakes.

Dry roast poha

Heat oil in a pan and add poha to it on a low flame until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Set it aside.

Prepare to temper

Heat oil in the same pan and add curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and green chilli to it. Saute until it starts to crackle.

Roast peanuts

In the same pan, add chana dal, peanuts and makhana to it. Saute it for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.

Add spices

Now, add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, and coconut flakes. Toss it well to combine everything.

Assemble chivda

Now, take a mixing bowl and add roasted poha, roasted peanuts and makhana together. Toss it well to combine the spices together.

Store and serve

Store the poha chivda in an airtight container. Eat this between meals to reduce hunger pangs. You can pair it with morning or evening tea.
