Ingredients
Half a teaspoon of channa dal, urad dal, one cup of moong dal, one-fourth teaspoon of turmeric powder, two tablespoons of oil, 2-3 slices of ginger, one teaspoon of mustard seeds, one cup of rava, a pinch of hing, one teaspoon of cumin powder, one cup of curd, and 7-8 curry leaves.
Prepare moong dal
Soak moong dal for atleast 4-6 hours or overnight. Add the soaked moong dal with water to a mixer and blend it into a smooth paste.
Prepare batter
Take a bowl and add moong dal paste, curd, rava, and water. Mix it well and keep the batter aside for 20-30 minutes.
Prepare to temper
Heat oil in a pan and add chopped chillies, hing , ginger , mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal , and curry leaves. Cook until it starts to sputter.
Cook idli
Add prepared tempering to the batter and pour the batter into greased moulds. Steam the idli for 15-20 minutes .
