Are you looking for a quick breakfast option for your busy mornings? Lauki paneer chilla is packed with protein and dietary fibre that helps in weight loss.
Ingredients
One big laulki (bottle gourd), half a cup of besan(gram flour), 1-2 green chillies, half an inch of ginger, one onion, one tomato, one-fourth teaspoon turmeric powder, half a teaspoon cumin powder, a pinch of asafoetida (hing), salt, fresh coriander leaves, three cups of water, oil or ghee.
Grate lauki
Take the lauki, peel its outer layer, and grate it into thin strips. Drain excess water out of the lauki. Grate the paneer into the same bowl.
Prepare batter
Take a mixing bowl and add grated lauki, paneer, besan, curd, and water. Stir it well using a fork to prepare a smooth batter.
Add spices
Add chopped onions, tomato, green chilli, hing, turmeric powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, salt, and coriander leaves. Stir it well to mix with the batter.
Prepare pan
Heat the pan on a medium flame. Lightly grease the pan with cooking oil or ghee for added flavour.
Cook chilla
Now add two ladles of batter to the pan and spread it in a thin circle. Cook it well from both sides until crisp and golden brown.
Serve
Serve the chilla hot with yoghurt or minty chutney. You can also pair it with a pickle or ketchup on the side.
