Ingredients
To make chana chaat, you need one cup of boiled chickpeas, one small chopped onion and tomato, one small boiled potato, two tablespoons chopped coriander leaves, 1-2 green chillies, 4-5 cups of water, a pinch of asafoetida (hing), one tablespoon of lemon juice, half teaspoon roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, and black salt.
Soak chickpea
Take a bowl of water and soak it overnight. Drain the water overnight and keep the chickpeas aside.
Boil chickpea
Take a pressure cooker and add soaked chickpeas, salt, hing, and water. Cook for 2-3 whistles on a medium flame.
Chop vegetables
Thoroughly wash the vegetables and finely chop the tomato, onion, and potatoes into small pieces.
Assemble the chaat
Take a bowl and add chopped vegetables, boiled chickpeas, salt, pepper, chaat masala and green chilli. Toss it well with tamarind chutney to combine.
Garnish and serve
Garnish the chaat with chopped coriander leaves on top. Squeeze half a lemon, toss it again to mix, and serve.
