Ingredients
8-10 steamed idlis, half cup curd, one-fourth cup of chopped onions, two tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves, one tablespoon of sev, 1-2 tablespoons of oil, tamarind and green chutney as required, half a teaspoon of chaat masala, and salt and pepper to taste.
Fry idli
Cut the idlis in half and heat oil in a pan. Shallow fry the idlis with chopped onion until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
Dip in curd
Add salt to the curd and mix it well. Add the fried idlis to this and coat them properly from both sides.
Add spices
Transfer the idlis to a mixing bowl and add salt, red chilli powder, coriander leaves, and chaat masala. Toss it well to combine everything together.
Add tamarind and green chutney
Now, add tamarind and green chutney to the idlis and mix them well. Sprinkle some chaat masala on top.
Garnish and serve
Garnish the idli chaat with pomegranate seeds, sev or peanuts for added crunch. Toss it well and serve.
