Pelvic pain does not only affect women, but men also suffer from this problem. However, the cause of pelvic pain is different in men and women. Here are some reasons which can cause pelvic pain in men too.

What Is Pelvic Pain?

Pelvic is the lowest part of our abdomen. Organs like the bladder, ovaries and uterus are present in this part. Pain in these abdominal organs or the surrounding muscles, bones, nervous system and blood vessels is called pelvic pain.

Vasectomy

Some men have pelvic pain after having a vasectomy. You may have pelvic pain for a few months after having a vasectomy.

Prostate Enlargement

An enlarged prostate puts pressure on the urethra of men, due to which there is difficulty in passing urine. This increases the stress on the bladder muscles. Due to this, pain can occur in your pelvis.

Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases also cause pelvic pain. Conditions such as gonorrhoea and chlamydia are sexually transmitted, which can happen to anyone during sexual activity.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable bowel syndrome is a disorder affecting the large intestine, due to which symptoms such as pelvic cramps and pain are felt.

If there is any problem in the pelvis or around the pelvis, do not ignore it. If you see any such case, then see a doctor immediately.
