Nasal congestion in babies is a problem which is usually harmless. However, it can be discomforting, causing rapid breathing and a stuffy nose. Here are some tips for treating nasal congestion in babies.
Saltwater Or Saline Drops
You can use saline or saltwater drops to eliminate the mucus congesting the nose. Saline drops work by thinning the mucus, relieving babies from nasal congestion.
Warm Bath
You can also use steamy showers and warm baths to relieve your child from nasal congestion. While doing this, ensure the water or steam is not hot for the child.
Hydration
Water can thin the mucus stuck in the nose. So, keep kids hydrated and encourage them to sip water throughout the day.
Gentle Nasal Pathway Suction
Before feeding the baby, the nasal pathway can be cleared by gentle and mild suction. Make use of a soft, dry cloth to remove any extra mucus.
