Ingredients
One cup of ginger, four cups of castor sugar, half a lemon, a pinch of salt, four cups of water, and powdered sugar.
Peel and slice ginger
Start by thoroughly peeling the ginger and cutting the ginger into thin slices. Boil the ginger slices for 30 seconds.
Prepare sugar syrup
Take a pan and add sugar and water to it. Stir it continuously until the sugar is completely melted. Add lemon juice and stir it until it starts to thicken.
Add ginger slices
Now, add the boiled ginger slices to the pan and a pinch of salt. Cook and simmer for 45 minutes, until the sugar has been completely absorbed by the ginger.
Coat powdered sugar
Spread the ginger slices on a tray lined with butter paper. Coat the layered ginger slices with powdered sugar and store them in an airtight container.
