South Indian Style Peanut Chutney Recipe To Pair With Dosa

Peanut chutney or groundnut chutney or palli chutney. It has a rich, nutty flavour and is perfect to pair with dosas and idli. Tap to read the recipe!

Ingredients

One cup of peanuts, 2-3 green chillies, 2-3 cloves of garlic, one tablespoon of lemon juice, half a teaspoon of cumin seeds, salt and water as required, one tablespoon of oil, half a teaspoon of mustard seeds, half a teaspoon of urad dal, a few curry leaves, and 1-2 dry red chillies.

Roast peanuts

Take a pan and add peanuts. Dry roast the peanuts over medium flame until they turn golden brown.

Combine ingredients

Take a mixer and add peanuts, garlic, green chillies, lemon juice, cumin seeds, and water. Blend it until smooth and creamy.

Prepare to temper

Heat coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, red chillies, urad dal, curry leaves and hing. Cook it until starts to crackle.

Add tempering

Now, pour the prepared tempering over blended peanut chutney. Cook chutney for a minute and add salt.

Serve

Transfer the chutney to a bowl. Serve it as a side dish with dosas, idli and vadas.
