What is gond katira?
Gond Katira is a natural edible gum that has cooling properties. It helps prevent dehydration and keep your gut healthy during summer.
Ingredients
One cup of muskmelon, one tablespoon of gond katira (edible gum), one tablespoon of basil seeds (sabja seeds), a teaspoon of lemon juice, a teaspoon of honey, a few mint leaves, and ice cubes.
Soak gond katira and sabja seeds
Start by soaking gond katira and sabja in two separate bowls. Keep it soaked overnight or for 4-5 hours.
Prepare melon
Now, peel the muskmelon and deseed it. Cut the muskmelon into small, cube-like pieces. Drain the excess water from sabja seeds and gond katira.
Combine ingredients
Take a mixer and add soaked gond katira, chopped muskmelon, and mint leaves. Blend it together until smooth.
Add lemon juice and honey
Squeeze half a lemon into the drink and stir it well. Drizzle some honey on top for added sweetness.
Garnish and serve
Pour the sharbat into a glass and add soaked basil seeds. Add ice cubes and garnish the drink with mint leaves.
