Ingredients
4-5 tomatoes, 10-12 dry red chillies, a teaspoon of oil, 4-5 garlic, one small onion, a teaspoon of soy sauce, half a tablespoon of sesame seeds, half a cup of water, a pinch of jeera (cumin seeds), a pinch of hing (asafoetida), one inch of ginger, half a teaspoon of turmeric powder, half a teaspoon of vinegar or one tablespoon of lemon juice, a teaspoon of salt, and a tomato ketchup.
Prepare the base
Start by boiling tomatoes, garlic, and red chillies in water for 5-7 minutes until they are soft. Peel the tomato skin.
Saute onion and garlic
Heat oil in pan and add chopped onion with garlic. Saute it until onions are golden brown and crispy. Heat oil in pan and add chopped onion with garlic. Saute it until onions are golden brown and crispy.
Blend ingredients
Take a mixer and add ginger, onion, tomato, red chillies, garlic, hing, jeera, and sesame seeds. Blend these into a smooth and fine paste.
Add spices
Now, add the blended paste to a pan and add salt and turmeric powder. Mix it well and cook it for a minute.
Add lemon juice
Add lemon juice or vinegar and tomato ketchup to the chutney. Combine it well and let it simmer for 3-4 minutes. Serve it with hot momo.
