Benefits of phlasa sharbat

Phalsa or black currant is a small berry fruit that helps reduce body temperature. It aids digestive health and prevents heatstroke during the summer season.

Ingredients

2-3 bowls of fresh falsa berries, 4-5 tablespoons of sugar, a teaspoon of salt, a teaspoon of black salt, a teaspoon of roasted cumin powder, one and a half litres of chilled water, 5-6 mint leaves and ice cubes.

Combine ingredients

Take a bowl and add falsa berries, sugar, black salt, salt and cumin powder. Thoroughly mash the mixture using your hands or a masher.

Extract the juice

Let the mixture rest for 30 minutes to release its juice. Pour chilled water over the mixture and strain the juice. Press it down to separate the seed from the pulp.

Strain the juice

Now, strain the juice from the pulp and remove the seeds. Transfer the falsa juice to a glass and refrigerate.

Serve

Add crushed mint leaves and ice cubes to a glass. Pour the Falsa juice over it and serve it chilled.
