Ingredients
5-6 cloves, half an inch of garlic, one bay leaf (tej patta), 3-4 green cardamoms (elaichi), two cups of water, two tablespoons of sugar, 1-2 cups of milk, and two tablespoons of tea leaf powder.
Ground spices
Take a mortar and pestle and add tej patta, cardamom, cloves, and garlic. Ground coarsely spices together to release its flavour.
Boil water
Take a saucepan and add water with roasted spices. Let the water boil on a low flame for 2-3 minutes.
Simmer tea
Now, add black tea to the same pan and simmer the tea for another five minutes. This will infuse the flavours of the tea.
Add milk and sugar
Add milk to the tea and bring it to a boil. Add sugar to sweeten and stir it until it completely dissolves.
Strain and serve
Turn off the flame and strain the tea in a cup using a sieve. Pankaj Tiwari likes to sip it warm in the morning or evening with poha.
