Ingredients

One cup maida, half cup rava, one-fourth cup sugar, half tsp fennel powder, one-fourth tsp cardamom powder, half cup milk, water, oil, dry fruits, one cup sugar, half cup water, one-fourth tsp cardamom powder, few threads saffron.

Prepare the Batter

Mix one cup of maida, half cup rava, one-fourth cup sugar, fennel powder, and cardamom powder in a bowl.

Add Milk and Water

Gradually add water and add half a cup of milk to form a smooth batter. Mix it to prepare a mixture and avoid lumps.

Heat Oil for Frying

In a frying pan, heat oil. Do ensure the oil is hot but not smoking before adding the batter.

Fry the Malpua

Place a ladle of batter into the hot oil. Now, fry till the sides are golden and crisp. Afterwards, remove.

Prepare the Sugar Syrup

Boil one cup sugar, half cup water, cardamom powder, and saffron threads till it forms a sticky syrup consistency.

Soak and Garnish

Soak the fried Malpua in the warm syrup for a few seconds. Afterwards, garnish with dry fruits before serving.
