Ingredients required
1 cup whole wheat flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt, Water (as needed to knead the dough), 1/2 cup crumbled paneer (cottage cheese), 1/2 cup finely chopped onions, 1-2 green chillies (finely chopped, optional)
What else you need?
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, Salt (to taste), Fresh coriander leaves (optional, finely chopped), Ghee or oil (for roasting).
Prepare the Filling
Combine the crumbled paneer, red chilli powder, turmeric, cumin seeds, finely sliced onions, chopped green chillies, garam masala, salt, and coriander in a bowl. Stir thoroughly until all components are well blended.
Prepare the Dough
Salt and whole wheat flour should be added to a separate bowl. While kneading, gradually add water until the dough is smooth and soft. Cover with a moist cloth and leave it for fifteen minutes.
Stuff the Paratha
Divide the dough equally into balls. Roll each ball in a small circle. After placing a dollop of the paneer-onion mixture in the middle, fold the dough over the filling to seal it.
Roll Out the Paratha
Be careful not to push too hard as you gently roll the filled dough ball into a thin, round paratha. As the dough is uniformly rolled out, make sure the filling remains intact.
Cook the Paratha
Warm a tava or griddle. Cook the rolled paratha for one to two minutes on the heated surface. After flipping and brushing both sides with oil or ghee, cook until golden brown and crispy.
