Mahashivratri 2025: 5 Easy Steps To Make Rose Thandai At Home

Maha Shivratri will be celebrated on 26th February 2025. Thandai is a refreshing and flavourful drink made using milk, nuts, seeds, and aromatic spices. Check out the easy rose thandai recipe!

Ingredients

3-4 cups of milk, 3-4 tablespoons of sugar, two tablespoons (dried), one-fourth cup rose syrup, one-fourth cup chopped almonds, one-fourth cup chopped pistachios, half a teaspoon cardamom powder, half a teaspoon saffron threads, one tablespoon poppy seeds, a tablespoon fennel seeds, and 10-12 black pepper.

Soak dry fruits

Take a bowl with water and soak cashews, almonds, pistachios, poppy seeds, and fennel seeds Drain the water after two hours.

Grind dried fruits

Take the soaked dry fruits and add it to the blender with water or milk. Grind it into a smooth paste.

Boil milk with rose petals

Take a saucepan and add milk with sugar and dried rose petals. Bring it to a boil and stir it well to combine sugar.

Add spice mix

Now, add black pepper, cardamom powder, saffron strands, and rose syrup. Let it simmer on a low flame for five minutes.

Cool and strain

Let it come to room temperature and strain it using a sieve to remove coarse particles. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours and garnish with chopped dry fruits.
