Ingredients
Three cups of all-purpose flour, half a tablespoon of baking powder, three-fourth teaspoon of baking soda, one tablespoon of ginger powder, half a tablespoon of cinnamon powder, one-fourth teaspoon of cloves, one-fourth salt, six tablespoons of butter, three-fourth cup of brown sugar, one egg, half a cup of molasses, two teaspoons of vanilla essence, and lemon zest.
Combine dry ingredients
Take a bowl and add flour, baking powder, ginger powder, cinnamon powder, cloves, and salt. Stir it to combine the ingredients.
Combine butter and sugar
Take another bowl and add butter, egg, with sugar. Whisk it continuously to form a smooth consistency.
Combine wet ingredients
Now, add baking soda, molasses and vanilla essence to the same bowl. Blend it again to combine all the ingredients.
Make dough
Combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients and form a sticky dough with your hands. Wrap the dough in a plastic bag and refrigerate it overnight.
Make cookies
Roll the dough thinly on the surface and cut the cookies into different shapes. You can the desired shapes using cookie cutter.
Bake cookies
Spread the cookies on a baking tray layered with parchment paper. Bake it in the preheated oven at 175°C for 10 minutes until golden brown.
