Onion chutney is a South Indian side dish to pair with dosa and idli. It is made by combining onions and spices. It is a delicious way to add spiciness to your regular meals. Check out the delicious south indian onion chutney recipe to pair with dosa.

Ingredients

5-6 dry red chillies, one inch of tamarind, two springs of curry leaves, three tablespoons of sesame oil, one teaspoon of jaggery, 6-7 baby onions, and salt according to taste.

Soak dry red chillies

Soak dry red chillies Take a bowl and add dry red chillies, tamarind, and hot water. Soak it for about 15-20 minutes and keep it aside.

Grind ingredients

Take a grinder and soak red chillies, tamarind, curry leaves, sesame oil, salt, and jaggery. Blend them until it is smooth and creamy.

Add onions

Finely chop all the baby onions and add with the grinder. Blend the chutney again into a fine paste.

Garnish

Transfer the chutney from the blender onto a bowl and add sesame oil to it. Garnish with a few mustard seeds on top.

Store and enjoy

Store the chutney in an airtight container. Pair it with the idli, and dosas to enhance the flavour of your meals.
