Are you craving a crunchy snack during Navratri fast? Sabudana Appe is a perfect snack. It is made with soaked sabudana (tapioca pearls), boiled potatoes, and crushed peanuts, giving it a crunchy yet fluffy texture. Tap to read the recipe!

Ingredients

One cup of sabudana (tapioca pearls), 3-4 boiled potatoes, half a cup of peanuts, an inch of ginger, 3-4 green chillies, a pinch of rock salt, half a cup of coriander leaves, half a teaspoon of cumin seeds (jeera), a pinch of black pepper, two tablespoons of lemon juice, and ghee for cooking.

Soak sabudana

Rinse sabudana with water and soak it in water for 4-5 hours or overnight. Drain the excess water before use.

Roast peanuts

Dry roast peanuts in a pan until golden brown and crispy. Use a mortar and pestle to crush them into a fine powder.

Prepare mixture

Take a bowl and add soaked sabudana, boiled potatoes, crushed peanuts, ginger, and green chillies. Mix it well.

Add spices

Now, add rock salt, black pepper, cumin seeds, coriander leaves, and lemon juice. Combine it well to form a smooth dough.

Shape appe

Grease your hands with ghee and divide the mixture into small portions. Roll them into small round balls.

Cook appe

Heat a pan and grease it with some ghee. Place the appe balls into this and cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy from both sides.

Serve

Serve the hot sabudana appe with coconut or coriander chutney. You can also pair them with curd.
