Ingredients
One tablespoon of chana dal, one tablespoon of black gram, one tablespoon of toor dal, 8-10 dried red chilles, one-fourth cup of corainder seeds, a teaspoon of methi seeds, 10-12 curry leaves, two teaspoons of cumin seeds, a teaspoon of pepperxoren, a pinch of asafoetida (hing), and one-fourth teaspoon of turmeric powder.
Roast the ingredients
Take and a pan and add all the ingredints. Dry roast te ingtedints on a low flame until fragrant and aromatic.
Add additional aromatics
Now, add cumin seeds, peppercorn, turmeric powder anding to this. Roast these as well with other ingredients.
Grind the powder
Let the ingredients cool down to room temperature and add it to a mixer. Grind them into a fine powder.
Strain and store
Strain the mixture for no clumps. Store the powder into an airtight glass container upto 3 months.
Use as spice mix
Use the masala as a spice in rasam, sambhar or even fries. This will give a boost of flavour to your meals.
