GATHER YOUR INGREDIENTS
You will need only five simple ingredients to follow this simple recipe, and those are bottle gourd, sugar-free or stevia, skimmed milk, nuts, and milk powder.
BOIL MILK
Take around one litre of skimmed milk and boil it on a low flame for 5–10 minutes. Skimmed milk has a low glycemic index compared to normal milk
PREPARATION
Take two cups of grated bottle gourd and add it to the milk. Continue boiling it on low heat until it gets soaked in milk; it will take 25–30 minutes.
ADD MILK POWDER
Once the bottle gourd absorbs all the milk, add one cup of milk powder and stir it continuously for 10–15 minutes.
ADD STEVIA OR SUGAR-FREE
Now you can add chopped dry fruits of your choice like cashews, almonds, etc. Add stevia or sugar-free for taste.
ADD CARDAMOM POWDER
Take half a spoonful of cardamom powder and add it to the barfi mix. It can help enhance the taste of your barfi and give it an aroma.
SET BARFI
After turning off the gas, take one steel plate or mold and grease it with butter. Now pour your barfi mixture into it. Let it set for 30 minutes.
READY TO EAT
After Barfi gets set, take a knife and cut it into the shape of a square or triangle. Your burfi is now ready to eat.
