Ingredients
One cup of dried black grapes or raisins, half a cup of dried apricots, one-third cup of golden raisins, one-third cup of currants, and half a cup of orange juice.
Other ingredients
One-third cup of brown sugar, one-third cup of white sugar, two cups of water, half a cup of butter, one tablespoon of salt, one-fourth teaspoon of nutmeg powder, half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder, four eggs, and one and a half cups of all-purpose flour.
Soak dried nuts and fruits
Take a bowl and add dried fruits and chopped nuts. Soak them in orange juice and keep them aside for at least two hours.
Combine wet ingredients
Take a big bowl and add brown sugar, unsalted butter, orange juice, vanilla extract, and egg yolks. Whisk it until smooth and creamy.
Combine dry ingredients
Take another bowl and add flour, baking powder, cinnamon powder, and nutmeg powder. Now, add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and fold them together with the soaked fruits.
Bake cake
Grease the baking tin with butter, then pour in the batter and spread evenly. Bake the cake for 45 minutes in a preheated oven at 150°C.
