What all you need?
Two cups of amla, half a cup of dates, half a cup of figs, half a cup of ghee, half a cup of jaggery, one tablespoon of dry ginger, half a tablespoon of black peppercorns, 5-7 cardamoms, one inch of cinnamon stick, one bay leaf, a pinch of nutmeg powder, 4-5 cloves, and one tablespoon of flax seeds.
Steam amla
Start by thoroughly washing amla and placing them in a steamer. Steam the amla for 10-15 minutes until it softens. Deseed the amla and mash the pulp.
Grind spices
Take a mixer and add bay leaves, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg powder, cardamom, cloves, nutmeg, falx seeds, and cardamom. Grind them to a fine powder.
Cook amla
Take a pan and add some ghee and heat it for a few minutes. Add amla, dates, and jaggery and cook it until the jaggery is melted.
Add spices
Now add the spice powder to this and cook it for 10-15 minutes over a low flame.
Add dried fruits
Add dates, figs, and honey to this and cook it for five more minutes. Turn off the flame and let it cool down. Store it in an airtight container.
