Shoulder Exercises- Shrugs

Sunil Sharma of Maximus Fitness Academy, New Delhi explains that shoulder shrug exercises are done for trapezius, the muscles surrounding the shoulders and back of the neck. It is a kind of weightlifting exercise. In this, lift the bar on your shoulder weight. Lift it up till the lower abdomen. Hold it there for few seconds. Relax and again left it. Repeat this exercise while holding the bar in your arms. Contract your shoulder muscles while lifting the bar. Breath out while contraction and breath in while coming down. Hold the bar for few seconds before lifting it up. Shrugs are good for trapezius, back shoulders, upper back and for toning the shoulder muscles.
