The exact cause/s of Peyronies Disease are not known. Some factors that are thought to be possible cause/s of the disorder include trauma to penis such as hitting or bending; genetic tendency (it has been observed to runs in families) etc. Currently, there are no proven ways to prevent Peyronies disease. Some measures that may help to prevent Peyronies disease include:

Avoid sleeping on your stomach:
There is no evidence to prove that this is actually beneficial, but some sexologists and reproductive experts advise that adolescents should avoid sleeping on stomach. This is based on the hypothesis that sleeping on stomach can compress the blood vessels of the penis, which can lead to reduced blood to the spongy tissues of the penis. This may cause reduced growth of the tissue of the penis, often on one side and therefore, cause bend of the penis or Peyronie’s disease.

Be cautious during sex:
Injury is believed to be a possible causative factor for Peyronie’s disease. Injury can often occur during intercourse, especially when you are using sex positions such as female being on top. Therefore, being careful while having sexual intercourse is suggested.

Use Vitamin E supplements: Some small-scale studies have noted that men with Peyronie’s disease, who were given vitamin E orally, reported improvements. Improvement in pain was noted in 30 to 60 per cent of affected men, but there was no significant change in lump size or deformity of the erect penis. If, however, there is a role of vitamin in the prevention of Peyronie’s disease, it has to be confirmed by studies.

Use traction based penis stretchers: If you desire to increase the size of your penis (both in length & thickness), use of traction based penis stretching device can help. Apart from this, use of traction based penis stretching device can help to prevent or correct abnormal curvature of penis in Peyronie’s disease. It is probably one of the easiest approaches to treatment of abnormal curvature of Peyronie’s disease. Traction is applied on the side of the penis that has the scar tissue. This causes it to enlarge and become like the normal side and can result in longer, firmer and thicker erections.
