Shriya Arora’s Life After PCOD Diagnosis
Instead of succumbing to that fear, Shriya opted for another route, and went ahead with a long, gradual lifestyle change. "The only way forward was good food, proper nutrition, and moving my body," she said. It wasn't glamorous in the beginning, just simple morning walks. Then came light lifting at home. And, eventually, the gym became her space of strength and recovery.
Guided by her FITTR coach, Abhijit Singh, she committed to five to six training sessions a week and 10,000 steps daily. As a result, she welcomed a slow and beautiful transformation that led her to lose 61 lbs, or around 28 kg, and reverse PCOD completely.

The Wake-Up Call That Changed Everything
Shriya highlighted to us that she didn't start her journey to chase a number. She started because she didn't want her life to be dictated by a condition. It was the courage provided by watching others push past their limits in the gym that made her try and say, "If they can do it, maybe I can too." This mindset shift became her biggest turning point.
Three Years of Consistency, Not Overnight Miracles
Shriya lost weight from 83 kgs to 55 kgs in three years, a pace she described life-changing, and not crash-based.
“There were weeks when the scale wouldn’t move, and days when discipline felt lonely. My biggest battles were saying no at social gatherings, staying patient through PCOD-related plateaus, and trusting the process,” she expressed.
But every struggle brought her closer to her goal. “I reminded myself I wasn’t just losing weight, I was fighting PCOD,” she added and that purpose kept her going.

Another aspect of her journey was exercise routines that helped her build strength. Here is what here workout regimen looked like:
- Strength training five to six days a week
- 10,000 steps daily
- Regular tracking on the FITTR app with constant guidance from coach Abhijit
The combination helped her establish a routine that was simple, doable, and also sustainable.
The Hurdles: From Struggling to Run a Mile to Finishing a 10K
However, the most inspiring part of Shriya's story comes after the weight loss. She recalled that she was once unsure if she could run even a mile, but Shriya just finished her first 10K run and is now training for her first half marathon.
"That's the true gift of fitness. Once you start, you realise the limits you had were only in your head," she shared with a smile on her face.
