Cellulitis is a spreading bacterial infection of the skin and tissues beneath it, marked by red, swollen and warm areas of skin. To deal with cellulitis, you can try the following remedy. Wash the affected area daily with soap and water. Make sure you do it gently, without exerting pressure. Apply an antibiotic cream or ointment. For mild surface wounds, a common antibiotic ointment provides adequate protection. Watch for the signs of infection. If you see redness, pain and fluid of any sort around the affected region, see a doctor immediately.



Folliculitis is an infection of the skin around hair follicles, which occurs when the follicle of the hair becomes infected with a bacterium such as Staphylococcus aureus. The skin infection appears like pimples and can be itchy. To find relief from itching and get rid of infection, you can try the following.

Wash the affected area with warm water.Apply an antibacterial soap to the affected area. Rub the soapy skin with a warm and wet wash cloth for 15 to 30 seconds to exfoliate the dead skin cells that accumulate near the affected follicles. Rinse the skin thoroughly and pat dry with a clean towel. Prepare a solution with 1 part white vinegar with 4 parts lukewarm water. Apply the mixture with wash cloth over the affected area for 20 minutes.

Fungal infection of nails

Also known as onychomycosis and tinea unguium, nail fungal infection can be treated at home.Soak the affected finger in warm water for 15 minutes or in a mixture of one part vinegar to two parts warm water. Vinegar might cause skin irritation; in that case, you have to reduce the amount of vinegar in water. Trim the areas of the nail with fingernail clippers after they have softened.Cover the nail with a sterile, waterproof adhesive bandage between soaks.


Other fungal infections

Many types of infections caused by fungi are quite common and persistent. These include athlete's foot, jock itch, yeast infections, thrush and many more. Natural fungicidal action is provided by the commonly available garlic and extracts of citrus seeds. These increase resistance to infection and reduce the overall susceptibility to fungal attack. Moreover, drink plenty of liquids and take vitamin and mineral supplements.
