Indigestion, also referred to as heartburn and dyspepsia, is a consequence of excessive eating or eating spicy food. A burning sensation deep in the chest makes it difficult for the affected people to do their daily activities.If you feel that your stomach is heavy or you are burping frequently or suffering from acidity, try these simple but effective home remedies to get rid of indigestion.
Lime and ginger remedy
Combine two spoons of lime, a spoon of ginger juice and honey mixed in a glass of warm water. Take it after meals and you will see easing of ingestion symptoms.
Drink orange juice
Unlike the previous remedy, orange juice doesn’t taste bitter. Orange provides rest to the digestive tract and supplies adequate nutrition to ensure it is functioning well. Drinking orange juice after meals to help prevent indigestion.
Munching grapes between your meals not just treat indigestion and irritation of the stomach but also control hunger pangs.
Dissolve one tablespoon of lemon juice in a cup of hot water. It is recommended to drink it before you have meal to prevent acid indigestion. Besides helping with indigestion problem, lemon is effective in fighting against bacteria and other free-radicals.
Garlic and soya remedy
Mix equal amount of garlic juice and soya oil. Massage the paste over your stomach. Allow it to be absorbed. In a few minutes, you will be relieved from indigestion.
Dissolve a spoon of baking soda in a glass of water. Drink it for an instant stomach pain relief or to reduce indigestion.
Coriander and cumin/coriander remedy
Dissolve coriander leaf juice, a few cumin seeds, pinch of salt in a cup of water. Alternatively, you can mix two teaspoons of coriander, a teaspoon of ginger in a glass of water to relieve indigestion trouble.
Indigestion may be accompanied by pain. In that case, health experts recommend placing an ice bag on your troubled stomach for at least half an hour after meals will help you to ease down the pain.
Carom seeds (ajwain)
Mix carom seeds (also known as Bishop's weed) with a little rock salt for immediate relief from stomach trouble.
Buttermilk/Mint tea/Blackberry tea
Drinking buttermilk after meal prevents indigestion besides boosting the digestive process. Similarly, mint tea and blackberry tea after meals help deal with indigestion issues.
Consistent feelings of pain in the chest shouldn’t be ignored. You should immediately see a doctor if indigestion is accompanied by sweating, shortness of breath and nausea, as it could be a more serious condition.
