Amidst the coronavirus pandemic situation, a lot of fake claims are being made. People are living in constant fear of this virus and hence, they get into the trap and consider these claims to be true. One such claim is that eating hot peppers would treat coronavirus. The World Health Organization is keeping a close tab on the rumors being spread. WHO tests the authenticity of the claims and then inform the public about the same through their official social media handles. Recently, a claim went viral on social media claiming that hot pepper consumption can prevent and treat coronavirus. As soon as the WHO team saw this viral claim, they tested it and informed people about reality. WHO has cleared that hot peppers or any such pepper food cannot eliminate coronavirus from the body. Hot peppers can neither prevent the infection nor treat it. These do have antioxidant, antibacterial and antiviral properties but there is no evidence that this can help in COVID-19 infection in any manner.
