Sexual education has long been kept aside but it is high time that we give it the needful importance as it is extremely necessary. Not just girls but boys also need to be taught sex education. In this video, Ms. Ritika Aggarwal, Clinical Psychologist at Jaslok Hospital and Research Center, Mumbai talks about how and when parents can talk about sex education with their children. Most parents hesitate about this topic and hence they fail to talk to their children. In some cases, they don't know when to talk and how to start the topic so that kids understand everything well. This video is very informative as the psychologist tells ways to introduce sex education to children.

Here are some pointers that are explained in this video:

  • You can talk about sex education at any age when you think is the right time
  • Parents should make their child aware of consent as they should not accept physical contact with unknown or suspicious people
  • Teach them about good and bad touch so that they can identify if someone behaves wrongly
  • Encourage them to speak up if they feel uncomfortable
  • Talk to them regularly on this topic and not just talk once and then leave

These are some of the suggestions and to know more, you need to watch this video.
