Depression is considered as a disease or syndrome where the person finds it difficult to express his/her own feelings. So far it has not been clearly explained what causes depression, but it is believed that many things have an important role in it. It affects their daily routine. In India depression is becoming a common concern and in the younger generation too. According to a study carried out in 2017 at the Lancet, 45.7 million Indians are suffering from depression. According to experts, symptoms of depressions are 

  • Being sad or upset for 2 or more weeks 
  • Irritation  
  • No interest in any work
  • Helplessness 
  • Irritation and disappointment
  • Fatigue
  • Lack of concentration 
  • Changes in sleep and diet (hunger) 

Many important stages of life, such as the death of a close friend, loss of job or marriage, usually lead to depression. What kind of role do the chemicals of brain play in the condition of depression, it is not yet fully understood. But most experts agree that this is not just due to any imbalance in the brain. One should understand that depression can become extremely serious, and even lead to those suffering from it taking drastic steps. Hence, care and rehabilitation is necessary.
