Caring for older dogs - After the age of 8 or 9, dogs are considered old. A dog's lifespan is around 16 years. Therefore, you must know how to efficiently care for your older pet. First and foremost, you must see to it that the veterinarian regularly conducts proper check-ups which include blood work and ultrasound. Once a dog is more than 10 years old, pet owners need to be more careful about their need. For example, one should make older dogs exercise too much as it may strain their already weakening muscles. It is essential to continue to vaccinate and de-worm older dogs as it helps them in maintaining their good health.
