Exercises For Women - Overhead Press

Yashmeen Manak, physical instructor, demonstrates the overhead press exercise. Stand upright, grab medium-weight dumbbells in your hands with palms facing out. Your legs must be shoulder-width apart and hands above the shoulders leveled at the face. In a controlled motion, raise the weight above your head with arms fully stretched. Inhale before going up and exhale when you push upward. This is the finishing position of overhead press. Return the weight to the shoulders and repeat the exercise 10-15 times, 2-3 sets. Instead of using dumbbells, you may also use a barbell. This exercise can be done sitting with a straight back. You can also perform this exercise by using alternate arms at once.
