Wonderful things you should thank your dad for
Appreciating what your father has done for you is usually forgotten quickly. But, the best part about fathers is that unlike any other relationship, distance and mistakes do not prevent them from loving their child selflessly.
His multiple phone calls and long texts may irritate you sometimes, but he will always be the one loyal person who will be there for you in your tough times. Appreciating your father for everything he has done for his family is quickly forgotten. But, no matter how thankless we become, our fathers will always have our back. The relationship we share with our fathers surpasses boundaries of distance, mistakes and grudges. So, on this Father’s Day, let’s take a moment to thank our fathers for everything they have done for us. Here are a few of the countless reasons for which we just cannot thank our fathers enough.
Spending time with you after a long day at work
After a long day at office, one needs to put in a lot of effort to spend some time with family or socialize with a group of long lost friends. But, can you recall a day when your dad denied spending time with you after office? Surely, not!
Remember your first mobile phone or your first bike? All of those `firsts’ happened because your father was there for you, not just emotionally but also financially. Thank him for all those efforts, right now!
Backing you up in a dinner table fight
When you had an argument with your mother over going to a friend’s place for a night out, it was your father who backed you up and made sure that you were granted permission. Be thankful to him for all the fun you had.
Leaving your career choices to your discretion
It was your father who gave you the freedom of choosing your career option. You must not forget that there are parents who can push their child beyond limits for picking up the stereotypical career choices of becoming a doctor or an engineer. Thank your father for not being one of them.
For taking up challenges outside his expertise
Remember those days when your mom fell ill and the responsibility of getting you ready for school was passed on to your father? Those were some real challenging days for your father because he was expected to do things outside his expertise. Making you a perfectly knitted braid, preparing your lunch and making sure that you made it to school on time was a tough job for him. He deserves to be thanked for that.
Letting you avoid household responsibilities
While your mom was away and you were supposed to finish at least half of her household chores, it was your father who came to your rescue. He taught you how to avoid laundry and other household chores and still get away with it easily.
For having the best intentions
His cheesy text messages and long calls may have made you feel nagged, but deep inside all of us know that he has the best intentions; selfless intentions that no other man in your life can ever have. Thank him for that!
