As summer season is its peak, shouldn’t you be taking your feet out of hiding, so you can bask them in the open-toe sandal? It’s definitely a no, if your skin is peeling. But you can after fixing the problem. Knowing the reasons why your feet might be peeling could help you find the right remedies.
Fungal infections is one of the most common reasons of peeling feet. At times, people don’t even realise if they have fungal infections as there is no itchiness. So, if your skin has mysteriously started peeling off all of a sudden, you should get it checked. Fungal infection is not treated on time can infect the toenail, which is not so easier to get rid of.
Sweaty workout routines
Excess perspiration and moist environments often cause foot infections, resulting to peeling. Your gym regimen could be the reason, especially if it has hot yoga included, you have peeling feet. So, if you’re doing anything barefooted, or you’re sharing mats or if you’re practicing hot yoga in a moist environment, you’re likely to get bacterial or fungal infection. Go see a doctor if you suspect you have it.
If you wear strappy shoes in the summer, you may end up with scaling or peeling of the skin because snug footwear can cause some serious friction which eventually leads to blisters. Avoid wearing them for too long, instead wear something that is made from natural materials to reduce the friction. Sadly, it’s not just the heels, even your flip flops can cause foot discomfort and peeling.
