Oats are rich in fiber, making it highly beneficial for digestion. High iron content makes it a perfect super food for new moms because it helps to keep anaemia at bay. Just one bowl of oatmeal in a day not only helps you to cope with stress, but also keeps you full for longer.
Almonds for new mothers
Almonds are loaded with protein, vitamin E and essential fats that are required for the health of the mother as well as the baby. Essential fatty acids in almonds boost production and supply of milk. Moreover, they are highly necessary for your bones and teeth. However, if you are allergic to almonds or have a family history of nut allergy, we suggest you avoid them completely.
Apricots for new mothers
Apricots are loaded with dietary fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium and other essential nutrients new mothers definitely need to have. Include apricots in your diet to increase production of prolactin, a hormone responsible for promoting production of milk. Prefer fresh apricots to the canned ones as they are a better source of fiber.
Kidney beans are known to be good for digestive system; besides, they contain high amounts of iron and protein. You may get a little gas after eating beans, but it will not affect your breast milk.
