Artichokes have the ability to increase mental sharpness. Pull the artichoke apart, leaf by leaf, then put the pieces into a jar and add enough water to just barely cover. Cover the jar with a lid and place it in a pan with water. Boil for two hours, adding more water to the pan (not the jar) as necessary. Then strain the contents of the jar and give the artichoke leaves a good squeeze to get out all the juice. Take 3 to 4 tablespoonfuls four times a day.
Carotene, the compound in carrots is a memory booster. You can eat carrots raw, cooked, juiced or in combination with apricots.
To keep memory nerve cells healthy, eggs can provide you with lecithin. This compound is also found in sunflower and soybean oils. You can even purchase it in the form of a capsule. Taking up approximately 70 grams of lecithin a day may improve your memory, experts believe.
Popularly known as “lady's finger” in India, okra is a memory-enhancing food. Similar foods are sweet potatoes, tapioca, and spinach. Fresh fruits, especially oranges, and vegetables, almonds, and milk are also good for stimulating memory.
Sage, rosemary, marjoram, and basil teas weaken memory. They are all good and you can pick your choice. Take 1/4 teaspoonful in a cupful of boiling water. Let it steep for five minutes.
