Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa

In one of the biggest events of Indian politics we witnessed in 2016, we lost Tamil Nadu’s chief minister Jayalalithaa Jayaram, popularly known as ‘Amma’. Jayalalithaa was hospitalised and kept in intensive care since September 22, after she complained of dehydration and congestion with high fever. There were lot of speculations about her health, triggered by the secrecy of her party member over her health. On December 4, it was announced that she had made a full recovery and would be discharged from hospital in couple of days, but later that day she suffered a cardiac arrest and died on December 5. On August 3, the Congress leader was reported to have fallen ill when she was doing a successful roadshow in PM Modi’s constituency Varanasi. She was reported to have been battling an infection.
