Tea tree oil
Tea tree oil has excellent antifungal and antiseptic properties which make it one of the best remedies for ringworm. However, you will need 100 percent pure tea tree oil. To use this treatment, clean the affected area and dry it completely. Then apply few drops of tea tree oil on the affected area. Repeat this 3-4 times in a day for about 3-4 weeks for best results.
Garlic contains an antifungal ajoene, which may cure a variety of fungal infections of the skin. Apply crushed garlic on to your ringworm directly or use it along with olive oil and honey to make this remedy more effective. Repeat 2-3 times a day for at least 2 weeks.
Apple cider vinegar
The antifungal properties of apple cider vinegar are effective in treating ringworm. Moreover, they also have highly acidic quality. Since fungi cannot thrive in highly acidic environment, regular use of apple cider vinegar for an extended period of time can eliminate the fungi completely. Clean the affected area and dry it completely. Apply some vinegar using cotton ball to the ringworm rashes. Apply it 3-4 times in a day for 3-4 weeks for best results.
Raw papaya can destroy dead cells from the outer layers of the skin without causing any harm to the young skin cells. Dead cells of the outer layers of the skin are where the ringworm fungi dwell and thrive. Enzymes papain and chymopapain present in papaya destroy defence shields of the viruses, yeasts and fungus and help in curing inflammation and burns. Take some pieces of raw papaya and rub them on the affected area. Do this 2-3 times a day.
Coconut oil is one the most effective remedies for ringworm as it eliminates the fungi host. Coconut oil contains lauric acid, which is capable of destroying fungi thereby curing ringworm infection. Besides, antiviral and antifungal properties of lauric acid kill microbes on the outer layer of skin. Gently massage some amount of coconut oil on the ringworm for a couple of minutes. Repeat this 3-4 times a day for best results.
Salt water is an excellent astringent and it helps in the fast healing of the wounds. Salt water is capable of disinfecting an affected area. Either soak the affected area in saltwater or apply sea salt paste on the infected skin.
Aloe vera is well-known for its antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibacterial properties. It is a great herb for treating skin infections including ringworm.
