The Wonderful Mediterranean Herb

Rosemary is a Meditteranean herb that has needle-like leaves and pink, blue or purple-coloured flowers. Rosemary gets its name from the Latin words ros meaning dew and marinus meaning sea. Prevents Cancer

Researchers say that a potent anti-cancer compound called carnosol is present in rosemary. They have found promising results when they tested the efficacy of the herb against a variety of cancer forms such as that of the breast, colon, prostate, skin and bone. In a particular study, powdered rosemary was given to rats for over two weeks and it was found that the consumption of rosemary reduced bindign of carcinogen that was given to the rats by about 76 percent. Improves Memory

Rosemary has been thought of as a memory-enhancing herb since a long time. Researchers have found that it contains diterpine that has neuroprotective properties. They believe that this diterpine may help in the protecting of a person against Alzheimer's disease as well as the general loss of memory that happens with ageing.
