You are a meat lover

You’re lactose intolerant

Do things get little explosive for you whenever you eat your favourite ice cream? If yes, you may be lactose intolerant. Lactase, an enzyme that breaks down lactose to make it easier for your body to digest. Lack of lactase enzyme or excessive production of this enzyme, makes the bacteria in your large intestine to cause the undigested lactose to ferment and produce bad smelling gas and poop. You can prevent this trouble by cutting back on dairy products.
You ate too much junk foods

Who does not love eating pizza, burgers and French fries? Almost everyone does, but did you know that smelly poop of yours could be due to these processed and sugary foods. Yes, some people may not have the digestive enzymes that are necessary to fully break down fats, which can delay the process of digestion. So, the longer the food sits around, the more digestive gasses are produced, making your poop smelly than normal.
You’re taking medications

If you’re on medications for some reasons, your are likely to have smelly poop because some medications are coated with indigestible sugars such as sorbitol which can ferment.
Your gut is out of whack

If your intestine is unable to adequately absorb certain nutrients from the foods you eat into the blood stream due to malabsorption syndrome or you’re unable break down or digest certain nutrients, you'll have foul smelling stools. Image source : Getty
