Not getting enough sleep can be one of the major causes of afternoon grogginess. Too much intake of caffeine or sugar throughout the day can make you feel drowsy and unmotivated. Being disorganized can be another reason for your grogginess. If you are someone who does not like to plan his day, it is possible you can get overwhelmed very easily and drain all of your energy without even getting all of your tasks completed. Well, apart from self-induced causes, there may be natural causes behind your grogginess. A slight drop in temperature that is part of the body's natural biorhythms can cause the problem. This drop in temperature tells the body to prepare for sleep. An increase in the level of the hormone melatonin that is produced by the body can also make you feel tired, thereby causing grogginess. Get up from your seat and go outside to soak in some light. Even in winter, exposure to sun can revitalize you.
